WHO THE PROGRAM ADDRESSES
The open call is addressed to composers, performers, improvisers, sound artists, artist-researchers, curators, producers, instrument makers, creative technologists, and other practitioners interested in the philosophical grounds and consequences of the musical arts. Practices may be score-based, electroacoustic, digital, performative, improvised, collaborative, interdisciplinary, installation-based, site-responsive, curatorial, pedagogical, research-led, or situated across multiple media. This range is indicative rather than exhaustive.
Projects may begin from a work or performance, portfolio, developing method, theoretical problem, technological system, institutional question, curatorial proposition, listening practice, or broader artistic-research trajectory. Participants should be prepared to present work in progress, engage closely with others’ work, revise positions through discussion, and contribute to a collective research environment.
The programme does not require a complete philosophy of musical arts at the outset. Its purpose is to establish conditions in which philosophical positions can be articulated, tested, differentiated, and developed through practice. Intellectual curiosity, critical openness, and commitment to sustained exchange are as important as the current state of any project.
